We have this board at the back of our fence that the dogs - mainly our social butterfly Shelby - will nudge aside all in her social need to chat nose-to-nose with our back yard neighbors black lab that we have affectionately named Little Girl She and Shelby are kindred spirits and even have the same pink collar. So this has been going on for months, the board is wide and open enough that if she wanted, but thats never been a desire of hers... Until the right motivation was present. And that was today. I came home and was not greeted by dog noses pressed into the garage door, nor to barks and yips at the back door to come in and greet me. It was, in fact, eerily quiet. I even looked to make sure we hadnt been robbed. I call louder and Ryan, who hadnt heard me come in because of his headphones (attached to a computer game), heard and came out. ME: Where are the dogs? RYAN: Theyve been outside and happy to be there, just chill. No scratching at the door. ME: huh (yeah, this is not right... so I go to the back door) Where did that massive bone come from? RYAN: Oh, well, at one point I caught Shelby in the neighbors yard when I called, she came diving thru the fence board that is shoved--- wait. Its patched up. ME: I think our neighbors noticed her in their yard too. And it looks like Shelby finally found reason to pay their yard a real visit. *sigh* Tomorrow I will return the bone and ask where we can get one for our beasts to share because really, its THAT big!
