We in Hawaii are doing our part to help the Pacific side of Military Service Members and their families. Just to clarify the current talk about support talks about what the actual Fisher House Foundation is doing. Great opportunity to educate everyone about the difference. The FHF actually builds the homes (such as the ones the Army operates in Hawaii) and gifts them to the DOD and VA. They also operate and fund several other programs such as Hero Miles, Hotel for Heros, scholarships, the USS Intrepid, Center for the Intrepid Rehab Facility, NICOe and many others. Fisher House has the highest rating from Charity Navigator and is able to say that 95% of all donations made to support them actually go to where the donor wants them to go....to help military families. :-) each Fisher House has its own CFC#. If you would like to support your local FH or the Foundation contact them for their CFC#.
