We love this fur-ever story: Karen has had a lot of cats dropped off at her house over the years and works hard at getting them spayed or neutered and allows them to stay at her barn. Karen had been trying to catch Mama for 3 - 4 years. Finally, this summer, Mama walked right into the house. The next day, Karen found mom and kittens under her computer desk. In the before picture, you can see that Mama is not in good condition. She had massive hair loss from flea allergies and poor diet and was thin. Fast forward through the summer to a cat with a beautiful coat and good body weight (after). We had her spayed and ready to return to Karens house where we thought she would live in the barn because she was still feral. To our delight, Karen says that Mama will be living in the house for the rest of her life even if she never becomes friendly! She wants her to be safe and knew that Mama trusted her. We had some happy tears as we thought about how this wonderful mom cat who had cared for so many babies would finally have her own mom!!! Karen reports that Mama is now super affectionate and seeking out people. Thank you to Karen for her commitment to the cats who have been left with her and for loving this sweet cat! Mamas last two kittens will be at the Okemos Soldans on Sunday.
