Two Ann Arbor women are in the finals for Global Startup Battle for their new technology venture called MagicBook. MagicBook is a mobile app that uses augmented reality to bring paper books to life. It is so simple a 3 year old can use it, and that’s our initial target market: pre-readers ages 3-5. The idea is that a child can pick a book off their bookshelf and hold up a smartphone to the pages. When they do, magic happens: pages come alive with animation, sound, and interaction. Their vision is to have MagicBook positively impact education, which is why their growth plan includes partnerships with libraries and schools.
