We need thoughts of strength for Sadie Rue in her fight to hang on - TopicsExpress

We need thoughts of strength for Sadie Rue in her fight to hang on a little while longer with us. Sae Sae is 11 1/2 years old and really adored our dad. They were very very close. She took his sudden passing back in May quite hard. Previously, she had been a robust gal who looked closer to 6 or 7 years rather than well over 11. Suddenly, her appetite disappeared and she began to look surprisingly frail. At first we thought it was solely grief but we took her immediately for care and testing. Following a complete xray panel, it was discovered Sadie Rue has a fast growing, aggressive mass pressing on her tummy -- hence her lack of appetite and inability to keep a complete meal down. We started to notice little lost piles of nutrition here and there and had been concerned she had some type of obstruction. Such is not the case. All signs point to an aggressive cancer. Sae is not in pain and is receiving the best of care, however, she is not a good surgical candidate as the cancer is spreading into her spine. She also has some other age related issues. This growth has happened nearly as quickly as the way dad fell and passed the next day. The blink of an eye. My heart is raw with pain but I know soon Pops and Sae will walk together again. I can see them together in my memory now and the sweet way she followed him everywhere. Love, Miss Deb (AND YES, Sae and her brother Clay are a couple of throw-away dogs. We had them in the back seat of the car and told dad to look under the blanket. He lifted it up said, Oh goody, Ive got a pair of cattle dogs now!) Joan
