We neednt have worried that this rural, northern, low-population-density area might be too white for our brown kids: For some reason (the country appeal plus the abundant food manufacturing jobs, perhaps?), there are a significant number of Latinos, an array of Mexican foods in every grocery store and even a couple of local Spanish-speaking radio stations here. Its been a pleasant surprise that our kids casually run into others who look like them every day, which was not the case even when we were in quite multi-cultural Ohio.
