We often hear Christians talk about how great a teacher Jesus was, - TopicsExpress

We often hear Christians talk about how great a teacher Jesus was, how perfect he was, how he is the best of all that one can possibly learn from, and how his morality is second to none. I beg to differ and say this is simply nonsense. Here we have an example of the wrath of Jesus in the times he is supposedly to return; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 " God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might" ( "Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction" ) What? This is abhorrent and immoral. I do not quite see how the following teaching is at all about love and peace either; John 15:6 " If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." And for those that say Jesus came to do away with the nastiness, terror, murder, and immorality of the OT rest assured you are misguided; Matthew 5: 18-19 "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ~G~
