We posted a video about Busters story yesterday and received a plethora of unkind, untrue, unnecessary, unhelpful and in many cases, pathetic comments regarding shelter staff. I thought I could counter much of the negativity with another video: Boy-dog getting looked after and evaluated by shelter staff. They see this kind of stuff, and worse, daily. They also work tirelessly with us and dozens if other rescued to save these dogs. Id like to be clear and make this point very clear: shelter staff are some of the most compassionate people I have ever met. They work at the shelter because they love animals and want to help-- END OF STORY. For some of your to sensationalize them as puppy killers who get a thrill out if killing dogs is preposterous and just wildly inaccurate. They are required, as part of their jobs, to carry out actions which are regrettable and sad, like euthanizing dogs. Wouldnt you rather have someone who cares escorting dogs over the rainbow as opposed to someone who doesnt care? And have you any idea how hard that is to do--euthanize when you care with all your heart? The sad truth about euthanasia of abandoned/stays in our area is extremely sad and disturbing but vilifying shelter workers for being dedicated to their jobs is just wrong. We need to watch where we put our energy because this is a waste of it. Staff deserves out love and respect. Nuff said, for now.
