We provide work and a home for 23 formerly homeless people. Together we collect unwanted household goods and then sell them in our shops. Mission To enable people who have felt excluded by society to regain control of their lives and discover a sense of purpose. We do this by running a successful, self-sufficient Community where Companions work to cover the organisation’s costs; and where they give time and the Community gives money to others in greater need. Company Overview Emmaus isn’t like any other charity, and our shops are different too. We think we are special and that the work we do really needs doing. We are passionate about giving to and working with others who are less fortunate than ourselves. Emmaus Communities enable people to move on from homelessness, providing work and a home in a supportive, family environment. Companions, as residents are known, come from many different backgrounds but share a commitment to participating in the life, work, and helping others. Our re-use enterprise helps us to be self-supporting and we believe THAT EVERYTHING RE-USABLE SHOULD BE RE-USED.
