We remember the 2 time All-Star pitcher and 1965 Minnesota Twins American League Champion, Mudcat Grant. Mudcat turns 79 and was born in Lacoochee, Florida. He plays his high school sports at Moore Academy in Dade city Florida. He signs with the Cleveland Indians in 1954. His first professional team, would be Fargo-Moorhead Twins. He breaks into the big leagues with the Indians in 1958. He would be an All-star for the Indians in 1963. He starts the 64 season with the Indians, but would be trade to the Minnesota Twins. In 1965, he an All-Star, because he has a career high 21 wins that season. He pitches in the World Series against the Dodgers. He becomes a Dodger in 1968. He comes to the Expos in 1968 expansion draft. During the 69 season, he is traded to the Cardinals for Gary Waslewski. After the 1969 season, he is purchase by the As. In 1970, during 1970 season, he is traded to the Pirates. 1971, would be his last season in the big leagues. He starts the season with the Pirates and then returns to the As His final game would be pitching in the ALCS for the As.
