We, the people, still want the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH about Benghazi. Current foreign policy, if there is one, has put Americans at great risk all around the world. Our enemies believe they can attack and kill Americans with impunity. This is a change in the belief that the world has had of America since our beginning. Our foreign policy for all these years has been: “Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute,” actually said by Robert Goodloe Harper—see The Home Book of Quotations, ed. Burton Stevenson, 10th ed., p. 63 (1967) and “Notes and Queries,” South Carolina Historical and Genealogical Magazine, vol. 1, pp. 100–103, 178–79 (1901). The Marine Corps was established to enforce our foreign policy: “A committee of the Continental Congress met at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, PA, to draft a resolution calling for two battalions of Marines able to fight for independence at sea and on shore. November 10, 1775, the Marine Corps was born.” “In 1805, the United States government refused to continue paying Barbary Coast pirates to refrain from raiding American merchant ships. When negotiations for a treaty failed, President Thomas Jefferson assembled an expeditionary force of Marines to respond. Lieutenant Presley OBannon and his Marines marched across 600 miles of the Libyan Desert to successfully storm the fortified Tripolitan city of Derna and rescue the kidnapped crew of the USS Philadelphia. The Marines victory helped Prince Hamet Bey reclaim his rightful throne as ruler of Tripoli. In gratitude, he presented his Mameluke sword to Lt OBannon. This famous sword became part of the officer uniform in 1825, and remains the oldest ceremonial weapon in use by United States forces today. Marine Corps MEUs were in the Mediterranean, off the North African coast and could have made a major difference in the attack on Benghazi. They were not permitted to do what they are designed and trained to do. We want to know why!
