We took advantage of the three day weekend and came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is a surprisingly beautiful town built on the confluence of three rivers-- the Allegheny, Monongahela, and the Ohio. So there are bridges everywhere! It is easy to orient yourself because of the bridges. Famous natives are Andy Warhol and Roberto Clemente (not really a native but played for the Pittsburgh Pirates forever). They have museums honoring them. Also Carnegie and Heinz were giants here. We visited the University of Pittsburgh and walked up 40 stories in the Cathedral of Learning. Jerry advised me to take the elevator but I figured if Bobby can hike to Annapurna base camp I can go up forty stories of stairs. And I did! What a view from the top! From a street vendor I bought a cup of Chinese bubble tea. Absolutely delicious!
