We took our final bow in Singapore. In turn we applauded the incredible orchestra musicians assembled who frankly blew our minds - Letter M in the Fiddle Concerto on erhus, gaohus and zhonghus! And Olympic Reel triplet phrases!!! Mind bending ensemble musicianship. The yangquin (hammered dulcimer) player was a grand virtuoso - they all were - the pipas, sanxian (3-string banjo), guzhengs, shengs (mouth organs) liuqins (mandolin) zhongruans (lute/guitar) on and on. Cant say enough! I LOVED the percussionists in this orchestra - man... they were perfect on my orchestral compositions - the timpanist had his whole body into the strokes and you could hear it - majestic. Ahhh! And then my last Singapore 2014 photo with Maggie Dixon, the night we left the wonderful hotel (with five astounding restaurants) for the international airport back home. Thank you to conductor Tsung Yeh for making it all possible, and seeing the connection between my music and the East, and that it could be adapted artistically sound and flawless. With love to Maggie. Thank you for elevating my music with me to such heights. I have performed a lot of places in my career - on six continents in fact. I will always remember Singapore like it was just yesterday.
