We were delighted to welcome back MBA graduate Laurence Barrett to the Business School earlier this week. Laurence returned as a guest speaker during the Corporate and Competitive Strategy module with Dr Dimitrios Koufopoulos and current MBA students. His lecture was concentrated on the Global Aviation Business and creating an aviation strategy. Laurence was pleased to share his thoughts on returning the Brunel MBA:- “My name is Laurence Barrett and I’m an Aerospace Engineer with 12 years of aviation industry experience prior to becoming a Brunel University MBA Student in 2012. As a former MBA student, I realise the importance of applying research to business, as an intelligent form of business development and for the unique opportunity it provides in evaluating new or hybrid business models. After graduating in 2013, I’m now excited to be able to collaborate with current and future students on a variety of business subjects, such as Marketing Planning, Operations Management and Aviation focused Dissertations. These engagements should prove a mutually rewarding experience, for students, academic staff and sponsoring company alike. Post MBA I have embarked on the complex journey to start a new aviation company. My new team and I will certainly be working with the Brunel University Business School as past alumni.
