Wednesday (December 10, 2014) HE AINT HEAVY Read: Matthew 11:28-30 Reflect: Restless...Confused...Burdened...to what or whom we go? There will always be a point in life that we felt restless, confused, burdened or any of that sort. It is undeniable that things like these come our way. What gives us strength and whom we go? Indeed, God provided us means to cope and emerge victorious over trials in life. He provided us faith, friends and family to whom we can go and find consolation. But when everything fails, remember this, we have God in Jesus whom we can turn to. This is the core message to todays Gospel: God will never abandons us, Jesus will never fails us. Dont turn your back from difficulties and trials but rather face it using Gods given gift to you and trust the Lord. Jesus says Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me (Mt 11:29). He doesnt want us to evade situations in life. Whatever load we have fits us, let us trust Lord when he said his burden is easy and light. Theres a story of a man who once met a boy carrying a smaller crippled lad on his back. Thats a heavy load you are carrying there, exclaimed the man. He aint heavy; hes my brother! responded the boy. No burden is too heavy when its given in love and carried in love. Love make things light and bearable. Friends, when we carry our yoke with Jesus, he also carries our burdens with us and gives us his strength to follow in his way of love. Do you know the joy of resting in Jesus presence and walking daily with him along the path he has for you? Resolve: Lord Jesus, inflame my heart with love for you and for others. Help me to carry the yoke of burden in submission to your holy will and loving word and sustain me with your grace.
