Wednesday (November 5, 2014) MISSION-CRITICAL Read: Luke 14:25-33 Reflect: Have you ever tried to apply for a job? Oh yes, there are bunch or list of requirements for you to get the job! The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States is famous of mission critical projects. They have a personnel requirements beyond the capacity of ordinary people. NASA has been sending human beings in the outer space for mission-critical job and that includes the moon. But what makes NASA truly remarkable is not their sophisticated technology and engineering expertise but the people behind it. These are people highly trained in their fields of expertise. They are not only brilliant, they are people of discipline and commitment to do mission-critical jobs! Todays Gospel, Jesus made a list of His requirements of becoming his disciple to help him in His mission-critical job of proclaiming Gods Kingdom. Unlike, NASA Jesus choose ordinary guys in the street corners of Israel in his time to help him in his mission-critical building of Gods Kingdom. Indeed, Jesus doesnt need extraordinary human beings. All He needs are people who does ordinary things but does it with extra-ordinary love! He is counting on you! Am I ready to take what Jesus requires as His disciple and to follow Him? Resolve: Lord Jesus, may your love transform me that I may truly follow you. Strengthen me so that I can proclaim the Gospel to others in my words and actions.
