Wednesday Reflection: This morning we listened to part 2 of Andy Stanleys message on decisions. Today he highlighted that every decision we make becomes a part of our story. That really made me think. Pastor Stanley used the story of Joseph as a model for his point. Most of us know Josephs story... He was sold into slavery, accused of rape, and thrown in prison. He maintained his faith through it all and God blessed him for it. His story was noble and void of shame. He never sought retaliation or gave into temptation. Joseph was tested greatly and he passed! I never looked at this story from this perspective before. It made me reflect on the less than honorable things I have done. Things I might want someone to omit if they were narrating my story and then I realized we cant change our pasts. That part of our story has already been written. What we can do is start making better decisions going forward to make sure our stories dont end the way that they began. The blood of Jesus makes that possible. HE has attoned for our past decisions and given us a clean slate. We have the gift of the holy spirit now to keep us on track. I dont know about you but I dont want to have to skip chapters in my book anymore! I dont want my story to be based on lies and hatred. I want a happy ending... What story do you want to tell?
