Wednesday: Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm: July 3rd - July 24th Child Birth Education with Certified Birth Doula, Suzie Knoll of Mears. The four-week Wed. night classes will be held at Shared Space Studio 4391 West Monroe Road in Pentwater. After taking the class, parents will feel informed, inspired, prepared and confident going into birth. The classes are designed for pregnant mothers and their partners who are interested in the natural process of birth. Suzie will incorporate education and philosophies from The Bradley Method, Lamaze and Hypnobirthing. Participants in the class will learn what to expect during each stage of labor, become aware of their options so they can formulate their birth preferences, and will practice techniques and positions that are effective for coping with the intensity of labor. Breastfeeding and newborn care will also be discussed. The cost for the series is $150. A $50 deposit is required at the time of registration and payment is due in full at the first class. Scholarships will be available for those who need financial assistance. The class is best suited for mothers who are at least 20 weeks pregnant.
