Weekly Update Div 1 Week 24 – AMF Villawood – 27 July The division bowled 1 pin over average at Villawood with 40 200 games and 9 600 series. The high game was scored by Kayleen Watts with 257, just ahead of Janelle Crass with 255 and 236, followed by Sarah with 231, Janelle again with 224 and Michelle Simmonds with 212. Janelle scored the high series with 715 followed by Kayleen on 619, Sarah on 569, Michelle 561, Joanne Lilly 532 and Annette Bateup on 521. For the men, Robbie Alston top scored with 243, followed by Paul Neich with 238, Paul Katar and Chris Cooper on 236 and Doug Lenton on 228. The series went to Shane Brown with 647, just pipping Robbie with 646, followed by Chris on 627, Paul Neich 620, Mike Brown on 619 and Mark Steendam on 613. 1st played 2nd and leaders Rooty Hill Knights lost a close encounter 11-8 as Lightning inched closer to the top. 3rd place Bowlarama Legion also lost a close game to Windsor Reapers 10-9 as Windsor Warriors Bandits scored 13 to move up one in the table while the high game went to Warriors with 1058 followed by Wetherill Park Phoenix with 1021 and Blacktown Thunder with 963. Warriors scored the high series with 2985, while Bandits scored 2841 and Phoenix 2749. Div 2 Week 24 – 7-10 Split, Fairfield – 27 July The division bowled 6 pins under average at Fairfield with 17 200 games and 4 600 series. The high game went to Chris Greaves with 234, followed by Michael Campbell and Chris again with 222, Daniel Prince 221, Michael again 217, reserve Brad Bruen 214, Graeme Pulbrook 212, George Antaky 211 and Scott Lewis and reserve Anthony Turnbull both on 210. The series went to Chris with 654, followed by Michael on 610, Scott 604 and Daniel 602. The ladies high game went to Dallas Archer with 226 followed by Evelyn O’Donnell on 189, Maria Wrublewski on 185, Rebeccanne Farr 184, Kay Ginger 183 and Nicky Foster 182. The series went to Dallas with 534, followed by Melissa Webb with 506, Maria on 500, Nicky 493 and Kay 0n 487. Leaders Bowlarama Alley Catz won a close battle with Bowlarama Bears 10-9 but lost ground as 2nd place Villawood Hi Rollers won 12-7 to move with 17 points of the lead. 3rd place Windsor Tigers lost by 2points to 4th place Lidcombe Larrikins who closed the gap to 2 pins on the Tigers. The only big win of the day went to Windsor Wizards with 14 who moved up to equal 5th with Rooty Hill Hotshots (9 points). The high game went to Alley Catz with 934, followed by Hi Rollers with 927 and Tenpin City Bandits on 896. The series also went to Alley Catz with 2610, followed by Bandits on 2563 and Bears on 2552. On Sunday morning, Tenpin City Bandits and Windsor Devils played a pre-bowl at Hornsby for round 27 which Devils won 12-7. Div 3 Week 24 – Wetherill Park – 27 July The division bowled 1 pin under average at Wetherill Park with 13 200 games and 2 600 series. The high game went to Josh Bayliss with 251, followed by Josh Mardel on 233, Matthew Morris 221, Richard Malcolm on 218, Bob Quinn and Josh Bayliss again on 217 and Russell Hart and Mikel Petersen on 215. The series went to Josh Bayliss with 640, followed by Mikel on 621, Josh Mardel on 577, Bob on 575 and Matthew Morris 570. The ladies high game went to Natasha Bracey with 235, a high for the year, but unfortunately Natasha will not have bowled enough games by the end of the season to qualify for the high game award as 2/3 of the season must be bowled by then. Natasha was followed by Maxine Jones with 200, Ros Kirkland 196, Rita Harris 191 and Trinny Short 187. Natasha also scored the high series for the day with 557, while Ros bowled 522, Trinny 515 and Maxine 508. Leaders Bowlarama Raging Bulls continued their charge with 13-6 win while 2nd place Randwick Rebels lost 13-6 to 4th placed Windsor Mixed Nuts as the lead pushed out to 25½ points. 3rd place Liverpool Lions lost 12-7 to Illawarra Steelers while 5th place Strathfield Storm scored 14 points against an under strength Villawood Vikings. Biggest win of the day was Wetherill Park Wild 1’2 17-2 against Sneeky Cobras to lift off the bottom of the table and push Cobra’s down, while Windsor Magic scored 14 on the bye. The high game went to Steelers with 899, followed by Lions on 895 and Rooty Hill Cannons 879. The series was reversed with Lions scoring 2556 and Steelers 2548, while Raging Bulls scored 2458 in 3rd spot.
