Welcome to Brusubi police station Abuse of prisoners, extorting money from complainants and taking bribery from defendants. Brusubi is resident to high income earners in Gambia which attracts lots of thieves and buglers in the neighborhood and this is a jackpot for corrupt police officers. There has been many reports of police officers detaining people that come to report crimes and falsely accusing them of an offense then extort money from both the complainant and the defendant before freeing both. The cells are filthy, mosquito and bacteria infested, no bed or blanket. If you are unlucky and get sick the arrogant and unprofessional officers will watch you die. In Gambia we give VIP treatment, full military and police escort to useless foreign artist and treat each other like animals. It is time that the government start paying security officers livable wages so that they stop robbing the public, in return we will get effective law enforcement. We tried to get hold of the person in charge of the station SO/OC Sidia Kujabi but he wouldnt comment on the issue.
