Welcome to Planet Harmony! PURPOSE Planet Harmony aims to integrate children from politically disturbed areas to the mainstream and encourage them to have a positive impact in their communities. We plan to reach out to children from Kashmir, Naxal -affected areas and the North Eastern states and help them build around themselves an environment conducive to amity, growth and development. The credo of the organisation is from conflict to harmony. Our aim is to select fifteen class XI students and three teachers from these conflict affected areas and under the aegis of the Ananta Centre, to hone their team, leadership, communication and disaster management skills. We are extremely grateful to the Ananta Centre ( formerly, Aspen Institute India ), which motivated us to move from thought to action and to launch Planet Harmony The students and teachers would then be taken to a scenic, safe and secure location along with their buddies where an Aspen Global Leadership School kind of leadership programme will be organized for them with a post programme project and follow up. The participants will also be exposed to adventure sports, trained in disaster management and First Aid / CPR and encouraged to be citizen volunteers. On completion of Planet Harmony, all participants including teachers will be duty bound to start a project in their school / community aiming to move from conflict to harmony and national integration. All participants from conflict areas will be given an educational scholarship by Planet Harmony on successfully launching their project in a sustainable manner. I look forward to your valuable inputs to make Planet Harmony a great success and our India a happier place and a more tolerant India. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, said an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. As proud Indians, let us join hands and be the change that we wish to see in our India. A number of schools and organizations have shown interest in joining hands with us in this national cause.
