Well....I completed a short 8 tour of duty with the Caldwell County Sheriff department this past Friday night. I really wanted to finish the 12 shift but 2:00am was well past my bedtime. Boy....the things that go on when most of us are asleep. Most of us dont have a clue as to what is going on around us which is a good thing. I want to thank Deputy Bennett Grout for allowing me to tag along with him as he worked diligently to protect the citizens of Caldwell County. I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for our law enforcement but this adventure reminded me of just how lucky were are to have these great men and women protecting our lives and property. I had an opportunity to see places in Caldwell County that I didnt know existed and just how big our county is. Folks we are very blessed to have a great sheriff department who does more than excepted for what they get paid. Its obvious they dont do it for the money. I was impressed with the answers I got when I asked the deputies why they choose this profession. They all said (in different ways) that they enjoyed helping the citizens of Caldwell County. These men and women risk their lives everyday for US. They work hard everyday and (I mean hard) to make sure our families and our property are safe so please be sure to say THANK YOU the next time you see them. Keep up the work and please be careful out there. We need and appreciate what you do for us.
