Well I have been spending a lot of time researching and soul searching and perhaps a little bit of time crying ... my case has been sent to the Oregon Health and Sciences University for Hip Replacement case review and surgeon placement. I am being placed with a surgeon that can specialize on how to place a new joint into the bracket system I have in place. My pelvis is degenerating off the bracket system. I guess it is time. It is just not time for me. I only have 3 more terms... I really want to graduate. I have worked so hard to just walk that stage..literally walk it, with honors! I dont want to accept any less for that moment. So I will now play a waiting game as I wait for the call. The cost will be substantial, they will not pay for my travel or if I have to stay there for an extended period out of the hospital, they will only cover the hospital portion. So I am of course sweating that too. This year could be the roughest one yet.. I am seriously considering having my hip replacement done and remaining in school at the same time. I just dont know how long they need me in Portland... and how many times I have to return. Or if the school will even work with me. This year will be a rough one.
