Well, I just got word; my surgery is at 12:30pm tomorrow, Friday August the 2nd 2013. It’s been almost 2 years 9 months from the first symptom until now. This has been a very long, trying and costly road to endure. Along the way I (we, in my family) have lost 2 babies, my father and my brother (My surrogate father) in that time. When the trouble was finally discovered and a diagnosis was finally given, my Dr rubbed his face and uttered these words to me, “Eric, I don’t want to alarm you but, do you have your affairs in order? Have you made provisions for Daniel?” Well, during this last week I have arranged for my brother to “camp out” with Daniel here, at my place. I have also revised and finalized my will and power of attorney as of yesterday. All that being said, I have been wanting, yearning and not so patiently waiting for this day. The nature of this condition (Either through birth defect or repeated injury from many concussions from football and rugby) will leave me with one of two results after the surgery. 1). If it’s a result of repeated injury, I am going to feel the best I have felt in 5 years. 2). If this is a birth defect, I am going to feel the best I have felt in my whole life. So, I’ll be signing off of face book for a while. I’ll post again in 4-7 days and let you know how I am doing. If I don’t ever post again, “I’ll see you on the other side”
