Well, I posted this on my timeline and I meant to post it here, but I scrolled through and didnt see it. So heres a picture I took while visiting my grandma. On the left is my grandma, Betty (Hager) Long and on the right is her sister (and partner-in-crime, I say) Emma (Hager) Skeens. They are leaning on the headstone of their grandparents, Enoch Adam Son Hager and Lovenia (Adkins) Hager. This is at the Hager Cemetery on Nine Mile. Someone added the cemetery to FindaGrave, but only had one person listed so I added the rest. With pictures! Although, there is one burial there that has a marker (both head and foot stone) but you cant read anything on it. Even Grandma and Aunt Emma didnt know who it was, which I found rather odd. I would think it must be one of the family. I may have to prod Grandma a little and see if she can think on it or maybe ask someone else in the family who might. Shes the oldest sibling left, though and I doubt the others would know if Grandma didnt. They were very grateful Dad and I took them up there again. They both seemed to think it was the last time they would be able to visit due to health reasons. As it was, Dad and I escorted them one at a time, holding on to one elbow each to get them up the hill. Our Ford Escape made it most of the way, but there was still a little distance to cover. Aunt Emma was also happy we took her to Bear Branch cemetery. She had never been which I thought was odd since there were Skeens buried there. She even knew that because she asked me to yell when I found one womans headstone. Thats the thing I love about genealogy - it brings the generations and the family closer, I think. Grandma is convinced there isnt anything I cant find on the internet, and Im convinced theres no one in Lincoln County she doesnt know! Put the two of us together and we make a great team!
