Please Read: POLICE DISRUPT ANTI-CORRUPTION NETWORK PROTEST The Police Force in the FCT yesterday, shut volleys of tear gas and water to dispersed a protest by a Non-governmental Organisation, the Anti Corruption Network. Executive Secretary Anti Corruption Network, Dino Melaye said the peaceful march was to protest the impunity in Rivers State while calling for the sack and removal of the commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Joseph Mbu. Mr. Melaye described the actions of the police as inappropriate. Our correspondent, Moses Agada reports that the protesters carried placards and banners with inscriptions: ‘Stop impunity in Nigeria’; ‘President Act on Rivers State’; ‘Nigeria is not a Banana Republic’, amongst others.
