Well, apparently Kilbane was upset enough to write a public response. Im glad Kilbane publicly wrote a reply (see link below), its great material for the trial, and shows how off his thinking is. One thing is clear to me, his lawyer doesnt know defamation law or didnt review that letter before it went out. Kilbane is smart to attempt to make this solely about me, but hes named SOFREP in the suit so that includes over 30 veterans and military spouses hes going after and the community at large. Hes made his bed and will now sleep in it. Weve given his attorney everything theyve requested, including a sworn statement from the account rep at the company he refers too regarding how they never heard of Kilbane and that they chose to do business with us because we were a veteran owned business with original content not because of the video in question. There is no 800k contract. I think Kilbane heard 800k in proposed business and thought he had a SOFREP Lotto ticket. Thats when he got weird about money and I personally cut him loose. Ive heard that his old production company Digital Ranch was threatened by him in the same fashion with regards to a Discovery channel series they worked on together. I think thats Kilbanes MO, and leverage point. Threaten a large business relationship and get a company to settle for large dollars. Not going to happen here Kilbane, well see you in court and judged by a jury of your peers or you can walk away. You can tell a lot by the company a person keeps, and the fact that the estate of my friend Chris Kyle and my SEAL teammate Chris Osman stood by me when solicited by Kilbane and his BS lawsuit speaks volumes. Ill also point out the incredible community we have built via SOFREP and the amazing people associated with this site. Thanks for all the continued support everyone.
