Well babykitten used a few of his nine lives tonight... Earlier, after getting some lettuce for his sammich -it seems Nolan didnt latch the screen door properly. Luckily Nate eventually noticed (none of us were near that room for hours..)I have no idea how long he was out.. I tapped his food bowl to get him to come back.. And for the first time *ever* he didnt respond :( my heart absolutely sank :( :( :( It seems he maneuvered his way onto one of the neighbors decks (the decks are high...up and there are no stairs, all of the townhouses homes decks connect via a 4-5 inch gap under the rails.. Me calling him alerted the neighbors dogs (no one is normally home over there- its their vacation home) anyway the dogs hear me, and run out onto their deck (they leave the screen door open so the dogs can come and go..) of course I then spot my terrified cat-He was cornered by two schnauzers who were ready for lunch.. He froze, as did they.. After what seemed like hours but was only a minute or two- He finally got the courage to dart back to me, except- the dogs darted for him too... Which royally scared the SHIT out of him- so he darted sideways, lost his footing, and damn near fell off the edge of the deck!!! I could have fainted!! :( it all happened so fast.. and there was absolutely nothing I could do (the decks are separated by a tall fence-like set of posts- they only connect underneath..) Ive never seen a cat run so fast in my life! He darted past me, and ran 1000 miles per hour back into our house.. Except he misjudged, totally busted his ass and slammed smack into the screen door (it legit looked like a wile. E. Coyote - style move..) and flew backwards. My Poor little pumpkin :( hes breathing so fast and his eyes are like saucers and he will not come out from under the bed for ANYTHING. Hes convinced the dogs are coming for him :( :( :(
