Well done to kaarin edyvean and committee for organizing the music for mates day at coolamon sports club on the 22nd of march for suicide prevention and awareness it is very important that people as a community learn and try to understand as much as they can about depression and suicide you always hear after someone has committed suicide that he or she is the last person you would think would do that iam no expert but iam about to share with the whole world of Facebook that only my immediate family know because we really have to talk about it and try to loose the stigma associated with depression well here goes i suffer from chronic depression people who have depression become good actors we become good at holding it together in front of people even if it takes every part of your being to do so I have never told anyone that I suffer from depression people who are close to me who know I havent been myself I have told I have ross river fever or anything else I could think of to explain why iam not myself when the truth of the matter is iam embarrassed and ashamed and scared by it we some how have to let people know that its not a sign of weakness and its okay to ask for help so if this event helps one person to find help it will be a huge success people with depression have to battle a lot harder than other people just to go about your daily routine work ect I have had weeks on end I couldnt get out of bed aches and pains tiredness u fall asleep on your feet u get that sick of it you just want it to end on one Saturday last October thats what I tried to do if it was not for my beautiful wife patrice and eldest daughter tess I probably would not be here every day is still a battle but it is getting easier with medication and accepting that you have to come up with strategies to fight the black dog and bite him back and push him away so please ask for help even if you are unsure what is wrong iam new to face book please tag it like it kick it would be great to get as many people as possible to attend and if you cant make it please spend some time researching good old goggle
