Well done to our u21 hurlers last night who had a great win against Leitrim killnadeema in Craughwell and ran out 1/15 to 10 point winners in what was a closer game than the scoreline might suggest, its been long season for the lads as one parent showed me the first text for training from Liam Morrisey goes back to the 10th of January but when is it any different at u21 grade, anyway there were some great performances last night, Sean Kilduff was brilliant from the dead ball, dont know exactly what he scored but maybe eight points and only missed one and had a powerful second half, Niall Armstrong was good throughout but at his best in the first half where he did a lot of damage, the goal came of a great move that involved Niall, Ryan Ellis ( who had an excellent game and took on the ball on ever occasion) Ryan popped a hand pass to Billy Lane who finished brilliantly to the corner of the net, Billy also worked hard and played in several positions and helped defend and tackled well in the closing stages, Shane Bannon had been playing a great game when he took a heavy blow to the side of the head that may have left Shane with concussion, after leaving for a brief spell Shane returned but then could not continue, we wish Shane all the best, Shane Niland had a strong game at midfield and got a great point, Ronan Kane and Kiaran Morrisey (aka choc ice) played at 6 and 3 and changed positions back and forth and gave a great spine to the team, Shane Mannion was excellent in goals and certainly knows how to marshal his backs and his pucks were long and accurate, this is a very young team with some lads having several years remaining at the grade and Daniel Ryan, Ryan Ellis, jack Kilduff all played well and with great maturity, well done again lads and well done to the management who know the lads inside out and it shows in the moves being made, great win, great evening, where would u get it for a fiver, so please get out there and support the lads in their next game, time and date will be posted
