Well fans, my full-sized Radio Shack MD-4072 keyboard succumbed - TopicsExpress

Well fans, my full-sized Radio Shack MD-4072 keyboard succumbed to plenty of wear and tear. The sound in one of my bass keys was cutting out, as the padding also started wearing out, plus the keys were breaking off from the main panel and the sound bank is a bit messed-up as well. I was hoping I would get it fixed but the repair shops dont have the parts that would fit in this particular model. After all, I had this thing since 2005. Meanwhile, I browsed online for another MD-4072 unit and came across two keyboards of this particular model on eBay. One, listed in good condition, is or was close to $300 plus $65 shipping and another one, listed in great condition, was priced at $200 plus the shipping. I went to take out enough to cover the purchase of the $200 unit plus freight costs, and one of my colleagues who works at a local music store, immediately placed the order for the replacement keyboard. As soon as it arrives at the music store, I will take my power adapter and test it, just to make sure it does work and is in top form. I still have the receipt just in case something goes wrong. And so, this past Saturday, I had to use my old Concertmate 990 keyboard (in which I had since 1999) to do my show at the Garlic Festival. I have to admit, it doesnt have the same soul as my full-sized unit. Nevertheless, after tinkering with a various sound combinations, I was able to pull it off without a glitch.
