Well friends, Smooches is still hanging in because we are holding on to a thread of hope. I did a lot of research trying to find a reason why a healthy dog would suddenly go into kidney failure. When I say healthy, he had blood work just a few months back that was completely normal except his thyroid prob he was on meds for. I found out about leptospirosis. Just 2 weeks before smooch for so sick he brought a freshly dead mouse in the house. Lepto comes from rodents and wild life and is leading cause of kidney failure in dogs! Told very about mouse but she never mentioned this. So I just brought it up to her n we are treating smooch with 2 weeks of antibiotics, kidny diet m watching. Even if that is the prob, it may be to late for kidneys at this point:( we will have to get his belly drained again this week n wait.
