Well heres a post that Ive been thinking about for a bit. A message to the next goverment that comes into power. I started thinking, the conservative goverment has done another unilateral move with this vote to go into Iraq. Maybe now people will see why we are doing what we are doing. They dont see us (natives, mainstream Canada) on the same level. We dont have a say. Its like they know they are gonna be leaving power in the next election. (They are) so they are gonna push their agenda regardless. To what I want to say. To the next goverment. Learn from the mistakes from this current goverment. Listen to all voices. Ours, theirs, and other countries. The fact I have to say ours and theirs (about Canada) is a view shared by all of Canada. We are divided. A new mentality needs to be done. About our outstanding issues. We need to communicate. Then maybe we would stop making noise and work TOGETHER towards reconciliation. From both sides. There is so much potential for all of us. This land has enough to sustain all of us. BUT The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. We need to work towards a greater goal of being Humane. If this happens. Than we would support one another. We would willingly become proud Canadians. (But were not) we are different. But we would contribute. It seems we cant. From what I see. It wont change anytime soon. Be the change we need (goverment) Again I think I could say this for most natives. I dont trust you. We will be watching. We would stop disrupting, just to get OUR point across. What has been going on, (as bad as it seems, would only get worse. Almost civil war like) We could actually meet and resolve. Make the corporations more diligent on cleaning up after themselves. We still live on the land. (Its funny, it was goverment who put us where we are, now we are where they want to make progress. Karma) You could fix the Indian problem! The fact they are still saying that. Is the mentality that still exists. This is what I think. (Warning, video is graphic)
