Well just got back from the hospital - saw Karen - still sedated - just signed off on the tracheostomy procedure so they can remove the breathing tube from her throat - at that point she should be able to breath on her own and be conscious to communicate - probably not by speech but well take what we can get. If successful they will start Chemo in a day or two to try to shrink the tumors a bit, Bottom line is this will buy at best weeks or months. There may be s very slim chance that she could get out on a day pass - or even a couple of days if she responds well to treatment. Reality is that my sweet angel is leaving us far too soon. My next project is to try to get a notary to do a power of attorney and simple will with me as executor so I can act on her behalf when the time comes. Hopefully I can find someone that will go to the hospital to get her to sign it or at least put a mark on it. Wish me luck on this one.
