Well starting the OOB Pier this Saturday night and i couldnt be more excited. this might be a long post but it will thank everyone who has helped or influenced my dj career. I would not be where i am without knowing these people. Lets start at the bottom. back in early 2000s. All started in Rob Jennifer Sirois basement. saw robs dj equipment and instantly had to get some and start up. trust me i was horrendous for awhile. some people dont pick it up as fast as people like Aaron Bishop aka DJ Hanzo. I started out with simple house parties and outdoor garage beer pong parties with Joey Fitts, Justin Heywood, Nick Jennifer Hogan, Steve Hackett, Aaron Faulkingham, James Koulovatos, and many more. In 2007, Big thanks to CRAZY 8s and Nick Everett Chris Hatch for giving me my first club style experience. go figure my first night there was actually my 10 year reunion from OHCHS. while there Darcy Pabst taught me that the high mid low buttons actually do something and arent there just for looks, lol. Then i met Mr. Dylan Dube aka Dj Wave who introduced me to Serato Scratch live and changed the path of my Dj career forever. no more lugging crates of cds and looking thru folders ( of paper) to find a song. Then in 2009 a Mr Brent Worrey aka Dj B-set hired me on at Club Texas where i was taught how to relax and just have fun while djing and where Brent taught me how to count and recognize beat patterns. it was a huge change in my djing. one night i went over to Fusion and saw Djkoolv Maine throwing down some electro music and everybody was dancing. i was always told no one in maine likes electro except a few of us and would be hard to have a club succeed with that style of music and here was kool Alabamasbbq Vincent making it happen. It was a great re energizer of djing for me. one of my bigger breaks came from Club Bingas Stadium aka Basslines who was throwing a contest to come dj a chem free event there. Whichever 2 people got the most votes would dj together. Finally a chance to play in Portland where a dj can be a dj and not a personal jukebox. If not for Ben Maineevent Way telling me about the contest i would never have entered. and in 1 day of promoting myself i had made it to the number 2 spot for djing. gave Ben a good scare though for first place. Huge Thank you to Will Otis aka Dj Verbatum for throwing the contest and actually showing me how to be more than just a dj, as far as a promoter, party planner and executing the party. Will does a lot there and it was something i wanted to become. Afterwards i went on to dj some big events there and it really helped progress my dj career. Then i came to know the club Shenanigans with Frank Berenyi Ruby Santospago and D J Matt James, where i introduced them to theme parties like paint and such and helped launch Shenanigans Chem Free. Hit some random spots like The Front Street Pub with Katherine Loblein and Tina DelSanto and MemoryLane with Jim Paquette Shooters Sports Pub with ChadandRoxanne Pearl. Talk about complete and utter perfect timing.... It was my last night at Club 302 ( Shelly Bickford) and a certain Cindy LeBlanc was working the bar and liked what i played and what i did for lighting effects and said have you ever thought about playing in OOB at the Pier? . ummm yes of course i have. she was a manager on the pier and talked to the owners and boom i was in, just like that. Big thanks to Rich Redmond for keeping me on another year. :) . Special thanks to The Pearl Derek Giusto for keeping me around. Other note worthy characters. D.j. Jayc, D.j. Ross Lenza Latendresse DJ Verahtis Kevin Tartaglio DJ ASIA Ya Favorite Homie JR Kevin Duran Jr. Jenny Ltndr Shane Holbrook and im sure 100s more. I love the support and help i receive from fellow djs. And on a side note some new influences would be Greg Young and Danny DeBruin. Watching these 2 guys create a high end dj business is amazing and something to aspire to. Have a good night everyone and enjoy your dj and remember to just have a good time every time.
