Well that was a bit of a damp squib. We have had stronger winds - TopicsExpress

Well that was a bit of a damp squib. We have had stronger winds battering us at our caravan at Brean in Somerset. It just proves the “News” gets hyped up. Reports on the news this morning 6000 homes were hit by power cuts here in the South West. What they don’t tell you, is there has been a fault within the Electricity Company (Western Power) before the wind hit yesterday. Our next door neighbour lost power around 10 am yesterday for about 1 ½ hours. On either side of them, we did not loose power. Western Power said it was a problem THEY had at their end. At 22:00 last night the same thing happened to us, for about ¾ hour we had no power but our Neighbours had power. This was before the wind was at its highest. I agree we had a strong Gale, but nothing like what was forecast. We live at the top of a hill, so we are exposed. Just thought it wasn’t as bad as forecasted. BUT IT SELL’S PAPERS. Have we become a nation of Nambe Panbies ?
