Well the council elections are done and dusted, new Councillors were sworn in last Monday and the first Ordinary Meeting of Council followed on Tuesday (22/10). There was a change in 6 of the 7 Wards, with the 5 sitting Councillors all defeated - this very much reflects the feedback I was receiving about a need for change and the angst in the community about the unprecedented rate rise the previous year. But its now time to put that behind us and for Council to work as a team to ensure its priorities more accuraetly reflect those of the community. Overwhelmingly the feedback I received was to have a greater emphasis on providing essential community services and amenity.
