Well, the rest of the family asked me to post what I posted last - TopicsExpress

Well, the rest of the family asked me to post what I posted last night over here on this sight.... I wish that everyone couldve been with us all tonight in Dads room! We were privileged to experience another wonderful worshipful time in that hospital room! My Dads sister (Naomi Gappa) was able to make it into town this afternoon and came straight from the bus station up to the hospital to visit with Dad and the family. She filled us in on some dates we werent sure of and some names of other relatives, etc. She told us some stories we hadnt heard before about she and Dad when they were kids growing up, etc. A couple of the nurses even got in a couple stories and they just were speechless, and in awe. We also had some more moments around Dads bedside talking about how he has certainly paved the way for us to know how to follow after Christ with all our hearts. We shed some more tears, and laughter mingled in there too, Then, as is our custom, we gathered around his bed once again, and I read some scripture: from Galatians 2:19-21 that includes the verse about being crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Its because He lives, that we live! Dad was certainly an example of that kind of lifestyle. Then we sang some more old songs: I Stand Amazed In The Presence and Oh, How I Love Jesus and Too Much To Gain To Lose and I Shall Know Him. There was such a sweet spirit in that room, it almost felt like a little bit of heaven! It seemed like we were singing in perfect harmony that was sweeter than ever tonight! Then as we joined hands all around the bed (about 13 or 14 of us), I had the awesome privilege of leading us in prayer again, thanking God for the wonderful gift He allowed us to have these moments together with Dad, and to be thankful for the heritage we all have, and that our challenge is to make sure we meet again on the other side! I think we were all crying. When we finished the prayer, we heard a noise from behind us. It was some nurses who had gathered just inside the doorway of the room (we couldnt see because we were gathered around the bed). They told us that there were about 10 nurses and nurse techs gathered there listening to us sing and pray. After we finished, a couple of the nurses came into the room and said that they just couldnt wait, they needed to come in and get a hug from us. They said they werent working that area, but they needed a Hann Clan fix! They came in with tears flowing to hug us and to tell us that we had been such an inspiration to all of them. Then as we left the room, one of the techs waiting in the hallway, told me (in tears) that our family just really had an impact on her in a way that none other has. She said that we really got her right in the heart! (as she put her hands over her heart and hugged herself). She said she couldnt thank us enough for weve meant to her and others working that floor. We left with a lot of mixed emotions to say the least. Sad for maybe saying goodnight and goodbye for the last time to our Dad, but joyful because Gods Spirit was still reaching out to people who needed a touch of grace! That even through the sadness of death, we can experience the joy of heaven! We are truly blessed beyond measure! We gathered again this morning to find Dad not opening his eyes at all. His breathing is slowing and other signs are there to signify that it cant be much longer now. We will do our best to keep everyone abreast with what is happening. But for now, we just wait...and minister to the ones who come into the room, nurses, techs, and other employees, as well as visitors. To God be the Glory!
