Well this morning started out with meeting a random Superman... (and James Glossop really is a superstar) Meeting my friends Shona, Em, Chris P Rice and setting off on The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon. Loved the crowds today and so many friends and family along the route, you were amazing, sweaty hugs all round, so Ill apologise, but they meant so much!! Smiggy seems to be such an unusual name, the crowds never stopped shouting and cheering and for that, Im truly grateful. I got chatting to a guy at mile 21 (a teacher from Canon Lee) who unbelievably was running with a broken foot (absolute nut). After chatting for a while, I made the decision to stay with him through to the finish, how the hell he made it I dont know, but the courage and walls he went through was amazing. 5.5 miles of running/walking in agony but such determination. My hat is off to him (Mr Brett Hutchins AKA Mr Crutchins). And to top it all I came home with a PB after a few beers and great time with the lovely Andy and Chris - who might I add is a total star and absolutely rocked today with an amazing PB.... Today was a really, really good day!
