Well today did not go as planned. My minor surgery was cancelled and after a Chinese fire drill between doctor offices, I was sent back in for another ultrasound. I am now scheduled for a more invasive surgery on Wednesday in hopes of removing the entire mass and then sending the tissue out for culturing. Once they determine the strain, then I will hopefully get oral antibiotics. Worst case scenario, if it is a particular strain, I will have a picc line inserted into my arm for up to six months and do antibiotic therapy that way. Either way, I am riding the derby bench for a lil while. Not exactly a good start to my last season. So not a happy camper right now.
