Well, today was much better day!!! Biked from Menahga to Bemidji, Mn.. 76 mile ride today. 17 miles on county roads and the rest on the Heartland and Paul Bunyan Trails. Started out cold with temperature around 49 degrees but warmed to about 69 degrees with sunny skies. Wind was calm most of ride with winds 5-15mph at the end. 5 hrs and 38 minute ride . Averaged 13.4 mph. Fun ride today! Everybody rode today! Mama deer and 2 fawn jumped out in front of us. Fun to watch. My friend Steve and I at rest stop #2. Ran into friend Joe Lisbon on Paul Bunyan Trail about 9 miles outside of Bemidji . He is on 3 day bike trip with some friends. Top picture is fieldhouse on campus of Bemidji State U. Where we are sleeping! Finished ride at about 1:15pm. Showered, went to local restaurant for sandwich and beer. Then body massage and long nap. Had pasta supper at local baptist church. Meeting tonite honored 2 people who have done this ride for 20 years. People on ride are like family and have passion for Habitat and building affordable housing! Plan on riding the the optional 100 mile ride tomorrow!!
