Well we are finally looking like the corner is turning - though hesitant to say, as every other time I say it he deteriorates! He has held some oral fluids this morning. So right now eating some mashed potato and soft veggies. And they must taste great from the sounds he is making while eating. He is getting frustrated at me telling him to take it slow. The stomach is in so much shock from inflammation and infection, plus nothing for 11days that it is spasming when something hits it. Sweats are easing again this morning. Diahrroea seems to be down to every 2hrs! And believe me that is a big improvement!!! His oral intake is not matching his output, so still relying on the IV fluids, but hoping that will lessen over the next 12hrs. His low potassium isnt climbing even after IV replacement each day in bolus and continuous. Heart rate is still sitting at 40bpm, even though EKG (or in Australia ECG) is showing sinus rhythm, which is good! Stomach pain is easing finally Still very weak, but dr this morning said it is going to take awhile to get back to normal - he said he wouldnt be surprised if it was up to 6months as he was hit pretty bad with inflammation and infection. Once again thank you for your prayers and thoughts and messages. Its comforting to know that outside these 4 walls we have the support of family and friends, and seeing prayers answered! Its been a long 11 days that seem to have all rolled into one big blur and would not of been able have the strength without your prayers. So praying for onwards and upwards! Mahalo!
