Well, we did the meet and greet at the Don Reserve, the girls - TopicsExpress

Well, we did the meet and greet at the Don Reserve, the girls walked together quite amicably. Jazz (Jills new name) is such a gentle walk. We drove back, but I asked Susan, the GAP co-ordinator to take Jazz, I could see that it would be too much for Ellie to have her in the car so soon. Back home, Jazz checked out her new surrounds and Susan and I took them up into fenced garden area. That went well, Ellie was more active, Jazz was quite worn out from the walk. Ellie is, quite fair enough, wary of the interloper. She has pulled the This is my food, and you cant have it stunt. A few growls and barks. Food stealing by both parties, Rod and I have done lots of eye rolling over that! Jazz is a food whore, I am not sure whether she liked cheese or pasta carbornara better. She steals food with gay abandon... She isnt toilet trained, but she did go to the sliding door, I thought she wanted to go out for pee. I took her out and put her on the line, she just stood there. I brought her in, and a minute later, she started to pee on the mat. No, no, I cry and promptly put on a lead and took her outside. I walked her around a bit and then took her to the chamomile lawn. I said, Do pee for Mum and a few seconds later she peed. I dont for a second think she knew what I was saying, but she got lots and lots of praise, nonetheless. God bless Rod. He took Ellie with him to get wine supplies. I think Ellie was quite chuffed with her Special treat, she has been a different dog since coming back. Both girls need to find their place, things have changed. This is day one, Jazz is here as a foster for the next 6 weeks, and then perhaps a furever home. Either way, she is the most gentle, loving pup, imaginable. She just wants to be beside me, and she wants to please. She has the most silky fir, and eyes that are as bright as buttons.
