Montfort College of Performing Arts Presents Broadway Kidz Thurs, 1 May & Fri, 2 May, 8.30pm Half Moon Theatre The Montfort College of Performing Arts is proud to present Broadway Kidz on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd May at 8.30pm in the Half Moon Theatre - a musical revue celebrating its 51st year of showcasing kids between 9 and 18 years of age. The students of the Montfort Youth Choir will shine on stage with a medley of classics with their inimitable sweet voices. To get the show truly hopping there will be unforgettable classics with tunes from Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Willie Wonka, Billy Elliott and much, much more. A foot tapping sing a long extravaganza for all the family is guaranteed. For nearly 50 years the Montfort Singers were synonymous with the best in musical theatre vocal work in Cork city under the watchful eyes of renowned musical directors Michael Casey, Cathal Dunne, Ronnie O’Shaughnessy, Christopher Hennessy and Pat Sheehan Corbett to name but a few. The Montfort Singers, now known as the Montfort Youth Choir is now under the musical directorship of Eoin Scanlon. In recent years the Montfort Youth Choir have performed in the Cork International Choral Festival to great acclaim, in The Magic of the Movies at Cork Opera House, Disney Dazzle at Hayfield Manor in addition to making several guest appearances at Fota Wildlife Park, Brown Thomas and the Mercy Foundation charity lunch. Broadway Kidz will once again show off the immeasurable talent which is indubitably prominent in one of Munster’s most prestigious training grounds for young talent.
