Well, we got the results. The percentages went down. Overall it is 81% Clint. Once it hits 75% they will intervene. When they intervene they will reduce his medications that are suppressing his immune system then they will give Sawyer Clint’s T-cells. They only have to intervene in 5% of transplants. Because his counts are now trending downward they will be checking him twice a week. They will draw them tomorrow and we should hear on Monday. The doctors came in mid our discharge instruction meeting. Having them back to back was a lot to take in. We should get discharged on Tuesday as long as Sawyer can tolerate all his feeds. He is around 475ml a day and needs to get to 600 to get off TPN and get discharged. In the discharge meeting she talked about what our coming year will look like. Here are some of the things on our no list. No sand, lake water, grass, pets, zoo, aquarium, can’t be by grass clippings, construction, or have plants in the house. If we visit someone with pets the pets can’t be in the same room. In a few months he can pet animals but only from a distance and has to immediately wash hands. Sawyer also can’t be by reptiles. I don’t have an issue with that and will gladly encourage no reptiles for years to come ;). We have to go to restaurants or shopping at off hours. No crowds or large groups of people. With our no list we also have a do list. The kitchen and bathroom have to be cleaned with bleach every night. No, that is not something I normally do. When we dust it has to be with a wet cloth. No Swiffer’s or dusters. Vacuuming can only be done when Sawyer is not in the room. Along with all the environment and cleaning changes we also have a long list of meds, feeds, and IV fluids we have to tackle. Not to mention his multiple appointments he will have weekly. Any of these things separately are not a big deal. All together it is very overwhelming. While we wait and pray I am soaking up my time with these two. Clint wanted to read to Sawyer but wouldn’t let him touch the book. :)
