Well we had a great weekend in Kingston, Ontario. We stayed in a hotel by the shore of Lake Ontario. But some strange things happened at the Festival Sunday that everyone wasnt expecting. Right as I took the stage to play my couple songs for the competition a thunder storm started immediately and poured the heaviest rain Ive ever seen. I was forced to stop playing because the rain was so loud and within an hr it flooded the whole tent where the fest was. It was the strangest thing thats ever happened to me while playing. They had to shut off the power and the last few competitors and I had to play in a separate room for the judges. But unfortunately I didnt get to play for everyone at the fest or get a video recording. When I was playing the first song I could tell my guitar was slightly going out of tune too because of the weather. What do you know my song was even called Rust, Rain, and a Twist of Lemon. The thunder was insanely loud and frightening, someone was shocked by lightning from underground. The show went on and essentially it was a fun sunny weekend. Everyone I met in Canada were super friendly! Had an awesome time and would definitely come back again. On the way home we booked another flight and didnt have to wait at the airport for 12 hrs!! All the performers we saw were amazing musicians from around the world and the competitors in the comp were all great too. I did get to play on Saturday for the open mic they were hosting at the fest. So thanks dad! And thanks Del Vezeau for making it happen and good job handling everything at the Canadian Guitar Festival! Ps Ill never look at a hotdog the same way again.
