Well we just got back from the Cancer Center/Radiation Onocologist. a very lengthy and informative appointment,.It appears that Chucks tumors are extensive and larger than we knew especially the ones on the neck they were also in the lymph nodes going down the right side and under the arm, the lung tumor is very large so the Dr. wants him to come back after next weeks Chemo treatments for more blood work, and a CT scan then after that scan he will determine if the tumors are small enough to go on, if not then he will have to undergo another Chemo treatment before he will do the radiation. Then at that time he will undergo what they explain as making marks to where the treatments will be, and then when he does begin it will be for 3 straight weeks 2 x a day. A total of 30 Radiation treatments. And with all the Chemo and injection days scheduled this is leaving Chuck very down at the moment, his spirits went from upbeat to very low, although I know we will get through this. We are a determined family, I know he is concerned about all the running etc, and the toll it may or may not take upon us. This will be a 120 miles a day, with the 2xday, If he was to do the stronger radiation it would mean 1 x a day for 7 weeks straight, and the medicine would be much stronger, so we feel the other is the better choice. He was told that where the radiation will be will cause swelling around the neck area again, and he will have trouble swallowing again! and to drink power shakes, I will go and buy some Whey Protein as well to put in drinks, etc. He will also require cotton shirts, and no button down shirts, (this is all he wears) T- shirts only to avoid rubbing against the skin in those areas, and special lotions and so forth. So no wonder we left there and him be overwhelmed so please continue to pray for peace of mind, strength and financial blessings. Thank you.
