Well, we’ve now organized the nearly 9000 items that will be auctioned from the estate of renowned collector Jerry Weist at the 2015 and 2016 Windy City Pulp and Paper Conventions. These consist of nearly 5300 pulps, around 2000 dime novels and approximately 1700 men’s adventure or true detective/western magazines. The material comes both from Jerry’s personal collection (most of which is in very high grade) as well as the warehouse collection he bought several years ago and which we’ve been auctioning since then (condition on these varies considerably). In order to accommodate this much material, we’re going to have our usual Friday night auction each of those years, as well as putting approximately 100 large lots into each of the Saturday night auctions. The Friday night auctions will be primarily from Jerry’s personal collection, while the Saturday night lots will be taken from the warehouse material. Of special interest in the 2015 Friday night auction will be the remaining Edgar Rice Burroughs pulps from Jerry’s collection. We’ll be preparing the 2015 catalog, and taking photos, as we get closer to the show, and will post them on our website and on facebook. And we’ll hope to see you at Windy City, April 17-19, 2015, where we’ll be celebrating the 125th birthday of H.P. Lovecraft!
