Well, yesterday I celebrated my second golden birthday. My first, when I turned 9 on the 9th was a big affair planned by my mother. She invited almost everyone in town (at least it seemed that way) and the day was full of games, fun, and my big present, a Spyder Banana seat bicycle! I had a great day! My second (born in 57, turned 57) was much, much more reserved. I enjoyed a couple of beers, a great grilled rib-eye, and a Red Sox win. With my plans (and my birthday gift to myself) of heading back east for eight days to see friends, attend my 40-year reunion, attend the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beer festival in Portland, ME, and photograph almost everything I see, I thought I should just relax. Of course, my e-mail box was flooded with retailer birthday wishes with great offers! LOL! One offer I decided to pass on was from Angus Steak House. Their gift to me? A free Cowboy Cookie. I had to pass on that one. It reminded me too much of a cow pie. Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful birthday wishes over the past couple of days! Ive tried to reply to each of you and hope that I havent missed anyone. Its always great to feel welcomed!
