Went to my first ACA meeting today at Cafe Express. There were about 10 or 12 in attendance. Had some interesting conversation with a nice group of folks. Tracie Harris from the show came by. She brought up her concerns with the fact that theist callers have declined in recent years and most of the callers these days are fellow atheists, and this ends up making the show less interesting. (and I agreed its a lot more fun to watch when theists call in!) She recommended that atheists invite their theist friends or family to call the show. But since most of us dont have a lot of close religious acquaintances (at least not that we discuss atheism with), I suggested the idea of making small 1/4 page fliers to advertise the show to theists in general. For example, you can keep a stash of these fliers in your pocket, bag, or purse and whenever you see a parked car with a religious symbol or bumper sticker, you could place the flier on their door or windshield. You could also place them on public bulletin boards and inside theist books and magazines. They could be cheap and easy to make. Most UPS stores, for example, offer b&w copies as cheap as 4cents a page if you buy in high enough quantities. Put four on a page and then cut them, and it ends up costing just a penny per flier. What do you think of this idea? Heres a rough draft - if you have ideas for improvement, let me know: Have you ever wanted to talk to an atheist? Atheists want to talk to you! Tune into The Atheist Experience Live on Sundays from 4:30 - 5:30pm atheist-experience/ and call-in to the show for live on-air discussion and debate with the hosts (512)472-2255 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Atheist_Experience
